Edoardo Vitaletti, a New York based Italian writer and director, will make his directorial debut with the period piece horror film The Last Thing Mary Saw, and today, we've got a bit of a casting update for you.
Stefanie Scott (Insidious: Chapter 3), Isabelle Fuhrman (above; Orphan), Judith Roberts (You Were Never Really Here) and Rory Culkin (seen below; Scream 4, Lords of Chaos) will star in the film, which is lensing in New York this month.
The film tells the story of titular character Mary (Scott), the youngest daughter of a darkly strict religious family who finds herself detained after discovering her ominously matriarchal grandmother (Roberts) dead.
"Winter, 1843. A darkly strict religious family inhabits an isolated farmhouse. One ill-omened morning, Mary, the youngest daughter, discovers her Grandmother – Constance – dead, covered in blood. A day like any other turns into a day of murder and mourning. Thirty-six hours later, Mary sits in a grim detention room, her clothes stained in blood, and her eyes covered with a black cloth. The town’s constable dives into her past, unearthing horrors forgotten for Millennia: what happened at the farm during the Grandmother’s funeral?"
