Slipknot And Stone Sour Frontman Corey Taylor Reveals He's Written A Horror Movie

Corey Taylor Horror Movie Script

Corey Taylor is one of the most outspoken men in hard rock and heavy metal, mask on or off. Between his Twitter, which is a joy to scroll through, and his several collections of essays, including A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven and America 51, he doesn’t necessarily have to be growling or screaming about how fucked up the world is for me to want to listen. This makes his most recent news even more exciting, and that’s before you consider the upcoming solo album and fifth book.

Through multiple sources, Taylor has confirmed that he has finished a script for an original horror movie. In an interview with Rolling Stone, he notes that he is “aggressively looking for investors and producers.” As if the man couldn’t get any busier, with his upcoming Knotfest at Sea tour, a new unreleased Slipknot album, new music from Stone Sour, another book, his recent marriage… holy shit, Corey.

"I wrote a script for a horror movie that I’m really stoked about,” Taylor also told Kerrang! "And I just broke the skin on book five, so I’m working on that as well. I’ve got a lot of things going on, but I’m also making sure there’s plenty of time for my family, my marriage and home. God knows, you never know how much time you’re gonna get there."

This venture won’t be Taylor’s first foray into horror. Previously, he made cameos in 2014’s Fear Clinic, 2016’s Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens, and 2016’s Officer Downe, the last of which was directed by his Slipknot bandmate, Shawn “Clown” Crahan.

No details about the contents of said script have been revealed at this time, but if Taylor is firing on all creative cylinders like it seems, #8 himself might have a killer time as a filmmaker.
