Following last year's Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, André Øvredal returns this year with his next genre offering, the very Chronicle-esque Mortal, which will be released overseas this February.
The film is described as a dark fantasy-adventure origin story about a young man (Death Note‘s Nat Wolff) discovering he has God-like powers based on ancient Norwegian mythology.
While the film doesn't feature the most original concept, I love Øvredal's previous works, Troll Hunter, The Autopsy of Jane Doe and the aforementioned adaptation of Alvin Schwartz's children's book series. So, I'm more than willing to give this one a shot.
Priyanka Bose, Ravdeep Singh Bajw and Iben Akerlie also star.
