A massive killer lion turns Amsterdam into its hunting ground in Uncaged (formerly titled Prey), the latest film from The Lift and Amsterdamned writer-director Dick Maas, and today we have a brand new English dubbed trailer to share with you.
The darkly humorous horror film has been making its festival rounds since 2016, and will finally be released on VOD platforms in the U.S. on March 17th, 2020 via 4Digital Films.
In Uncaged, "A zoo veterinarian gets caught up in a grisly adventure as she finds herself leading the city-wide hunt for a monstrous lion terrorizing the Dutch capital of Amsterdam."
"After finding a gruesomely slaughtered farmers family just outside Amsterdam, the police call Amsterdam Royal Zoos veterinarian, Lizzy, for help. She immediately sees what must have caused the bloody mutilations: an enormous, aggressive lion. Nobody believes her and it isn’t until after a bloodbath at the Vondelpark that the authorities agree with her plan to deploy the British hunter Jack. Lizzy’s boyfriend Dave has his doubts because of Lizzy and Jacks’s past as lovers. But even he must admit that Jack is their best chance to prevent more bloodshed in the streets of Amsterdam. The hunt is on."
I'm actually really looking forward to this film. It features darkly-comedic elements, a good mixture of practical and above average CGI effects, and I actually enjoy the films of Dick Mass, who also directed the fantastic holiday horror film Sint. I just hope that I can view a subbed version, as dubbing annoys me to no end. Godzilla and classic kung fu flicks excluded, of course!
