Another 'Guns Akimbo' Trailer Delivers Even More Wacky Action Comedy Thrills

Guns Akimbo New Trailer Jason Lei Howden

After blowing horror fans away with the heavy metal horror film Deathgasm, one of my personal favorites, director Jason Lei Howden is back with his sophomore feature, Guns Akimbo. The other day, we were treated to the first trailer for the batshit insane action comedy, which sees Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter, Horns, The Woman in Black) being forced to participate as the next contestant in Skizm, an underground gang that live-streams real-life death matches... Oh, and he has guns bolted to his fucking hands!

Ahead of its release this February, Saban Films has released another trailer and official poster art for the film. Check both out below!

The film certainly showcases elements of Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the Purge franchise, and uber-violent video games like Mortal Kombat, while capturing the very essence of what made Deathgasm so great. Pure irreverent fun!

In the film, nerdy video game developer (Radcliffe) is a little too fond of stirring things up on the internet with his caustic, prodding, and antagonizing comments. One night, he makes the mistake of drunkenly dropping an inflammatory barb on a broadcast of Skizm, an illegal death-match fight club streamed live to the public. In response, Riktor (Ned Dennehy), the maniacal mastermind behind the channel, decides to force Miles' hand (or hands, as it were) and have him join the "fun." Miles wakes to find heavy pistols bolted into his bones, and learns Nix (Samara Weaving), the trigger-happy star of Skizm, is his first opponent.

As Miles navigates the underworld of Skizm, the stakes — and the ratings — have never been higher.

Guns Akimbo opens in select theaters on February 28th, 2020.
