'Don't Breathe 2' Shoots This April With First Film's Co-Writer Rodo Sayagues Direct

Don't Breathe 2 Rodo Sayagues Directing

This is one of those rare occasions where a sequel is totally unnecessary but completely welcome given the first film was so damn good. We've learned today via THR that Don’t Breathe co-writer Rodo Sayagues will make his directorial debut with Don’t Breathe 2, which is all set to begin filming this April! Sayagues also co-wrote Alvarez’s Evil Dead.

While it may be a bummer to some that Fede Alvarez won't be returning to the director's chair for the sequel, I can't think of anyone better to take his place since the two have collaborated closely on two great films, thus far.

THR also lets us know that Stephen Lang will be back as the "Blind Man"!

"Don’t Breathe 2 is set several years after the home invasion of the first movie, with the Blind Man living in quiet solace…until his past sins catch up to him."

Alvarez co-wrote the sequel's script with Sayagues and will produce alongside Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert of Ghost House Pictures.

In Don't Breathe, Rocky (Jane Levy), Alex and Money are three Detroit thieves who get their kicks by breaking into the houses of wealthy people. Money gets word about a blind veteran who won a major cash settlement following the death of his only child. Figuring he's an easy target, the trio invades the man's secluded home in an abandoned neighborhood. Finding themselves trapped inside, the young intruders must fight for their lives after making a shocking discovery about their supposedly helpless victim.
