Netflix Acquires The Thriller 'His House' Ahead Of Sundance Premiere

His House Acquired by Netflix Sundance

Making its World Premiere at Sundance in the Midnight section, writer-director Remi Weekes' feature debut His House has already been picked up by Netflix.

Deadline reports that the streaming giant has made "a preemptive world rights acquisition."

In the film, "A young refugee couple makes a harrowing escape from war-torn South Sudan, but then they struggle to adjust to their new life in a small English town that has an evil lurking beneath the surface."

His House stars Wunmi Mosaku (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Sope Dirisu (The Huntsman: Winter's War) and Matt Smith ("Doctor Who", "The Crown").

Sundance describes the film as "an honest account of the human cost of the worldwide refugee crisis. It's also one of the scariest movies you'll ever see. The true horror is that one leads so naturally into the other."

Weekes co-wrote the script with Felicity Evans and Toby Venables.

His House will make its World Premiere at Sundance Film Festival on Monday, January 27th.
