Official Plot Details Possibly Leaked For Netflix's 'Resident Evil' Series

Resident Evil Netflix Plot Details Leak

We've been covering quite a few upcoming/potential film adaptations of classic survival horror games lately, with Silent Hill director Christophe Gans revealing he’s working on a new Silent Hill film, as well as a Fatal Frame adaptation, and in addition to a possible leaked production date for Netflix's Resident Evil series, it appears the plot details for the series have now also been leaked.

Brazilian fan site Resident Evil Database reported that they reached out to Netflix's press office for more information. The site stated Netflix officially confirmed the series and sent out the following synopsis:

"The city of Clearfield, Maryland, has long lived under the shadow of three seemingly disconnected entities: Umbrella Corporation, the now retired Greenwood Asylum and the federal capital, Washington. Now, twenty-six years after the discovery of the T-Virus, the secrets kept by the trio are beginning to surface, with the first signs of the epidemic."

However, shortly after this news hit the web, Netflix released a statement that they had not confirmed the series and the plot synopsis has since disappeared. Luckily, Resident Evil Database snagged the screenshot, seen below.

Resident Evil Netflix Plot Details Leak

Again, this news has yet to be confirmed by Netflix or Constantin Film, but given the release can be found using the Wayback Machine, I'd say this leak is legit. Still, take all of this with a grain of salt. An official showrunner hasn't been revealed and production has yet to begin, so there's plenty of time for things to change.

Stay tuned for more!
