[Trailer] Blumhouse And Universal's 'The Hunt' Finally Hits Theaters This March

The Hunt New Trailer March Release Date

The most talked about movie of the year is the one nobody has seen… yet.

After the "collective decision" was made to cancel the release of The Hunt following last year's mass shootings and heightened political turmoil, Universal and Blumhouse have now announced the film will finally be hitting theaters on Friday the 13th of March.

"I think we needed time. There’s never been a movie where there was so much judgment about a movie nobody has seen," producer Jason Blum told Entertainment Weekly. "I was definitely very surprised by that. And it took a long time to process. But we always felt, together, collectively with the studio, that the movie would come out."

An updated trailer was also released alongside the announcement. Watch it below.

In the film, twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They don’t know where they are, or how they got there. They don't know they’ve been chosen for a very specific purpose… The Hunt.

"In the shadow of a dark internet conspiracy theory, a group of elites gathers for the very first time at a remote Manor House to hunt ordinary Americans for sport. But the elites’ master plan is about to be derailed because one of The Hunted, Crystal (Betty Gilpin), knows The Hunters’ game better than they do. She turns the tables on the killers, picking them off, one by one, as she makes her way toward the mysterious woman (Hilary Swank) at the center of it all."

Directed by Craig Zobel (Z for Zachariah, "The Leftovers") from a screenplay by Nick Cuse and Damon Lindelof, The Hunt also stars Ike Barinholtz and Emma Roberts.

The timely and provocative new satirical thriller that has already ignited a national conversation. Now, it’s time to decide for yourself.
