Guillermo Del Toro-Produced 'Antlers' Has Been Rated R For "Violence Including Gruesome

Searchlight Pictures will release Scott Cooper‘s horror movie Antlers in theaters on April 17th, and a new poster for the Guillermo del Toro-produced film reveals it has been rated "R" by the MPAA.

Based on the short story "The Quiet Boy" by "Channel Zero" creator Nick Antosca, Antlers has been rated "R" for "Violence including gruesome images and for language."

In the film, a small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, discover that a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) is harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.

Antlers also stars Graham Greene, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane and Amy Madigan.

Antosca co-wrote the film alongside Henry Chaisson, with revisions by Scott Cooper, who directed.

Del Toro produced alongside David Goyer and J. Miles Dale.
