A GoFundMe Campaign Looks to Save the Iconic ECW Arena

It’s no secret that independent venues have suffered greatly in this era of Pandemia. With events that are able to be held usually capped at 25% capacity at greatest, it has become exponentially difficult to stay afloat. The live entertainment industry will likely be the last to recover once we are on the other side of all of this, and there are few venues that embody this spirit than the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

Known to many as the lauded ECW Arena, located on South Swanson Street in Philly, the venue is entering its thirteenth year under its current ownership, hosting pro wrestling events, MMA, boxing, live music, food festivals, and much more. Only within the last few weeks were the protocols properly put in place to try to host events, but with an initial max capacity of 1,200 people being quartered at the moment, there’s only so much that the owners can do with it.

As such, the crew behind the 2300 has organized a GoFundMe campaign, in order to weather the winter months, after which they hope to be in a better place to keep the venue alive in its current form. The organizers have added perks to the campaign, with a $100 or greater donation netting contributors a branded hat, and a $200 or greater donation will earn the donor a spot on their walls via a personalized plaque.

If you are so inclined, head to the GoFundMe campaign link here and help to save the once-ECW Arena.
