Abadon Cracks the Top Five in the AEW Women's Rankings

After her television debut last month on AEW Dynamite, Abadon has left her mark on the Women’s division rankings. For the first time since her debut for the promotion back in March, the “Living Dead Girl” is featured in the top five for the AEW Women’s Division, as indicated by the rankings that were released via the company’s social media accounts earlier today.

Abadon currently holds a 2-1 record in AEW, with her only loss coming from the March 4 edition of Dark against now-AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida. Her two wins were against Anna Jay on the June 17 Dynamite, and last night on Dark against Skylar Moore. In short order, the former Rocky Mountain Pro Lockettes Champion has left an impression on the AEW fans, as well as on the rankings.

Abadon posted a clip from last night's Dark to her Twitter, which you can watch below:

Obviously, Abadon has a long way to go. Dr. Britt Baker, the number 4 ranked in the division, holds a 4-4 singles record this year, but after an ACL injury back in May, as well as a rhinoplasty earlier this month, Abadon may be able to overtaker Dr. Baker while the “Role Model” is on the shelf and unable to improve her in-ring record. The number one contender, former champion Nyla Rose, currently has a 7-2 record in 2020, as well as a new manager in Vickie Guerrero.

The fact that a horror-themed character is making these kinds of waves in a mainstream promotion is damn exciting, and for it to be a woman is even more so. Abadon has shocked audiences with her in-ring style and her terrifying persona. Before long, she may avenge that initial loss to the champion Shida, and we could have a zombie for AEW Women’s Champion.

Or, to borrow a line from Rob Zombie, a “Dead Girl Superstar.”
