'Bill & Ted Face the Music' Trailer: The Wyld Stallyns Return for a Third Adventure

For many years, June 9th has been referred to as "Bill and Ted Day" by fans of the franchise. The unofficial holiday originates from the scene in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure when Bill and Ted are visited by their future selves, who're asked to prove themselves by guessing a certain number. "69, dudes!"

In celebration, Orion Pictures has released the teaser trailer for Bill & Ted Face the Music, the highly-anticipated third film in the franchise that catches up with the Wyld Stallyns Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) nearly 30 years later!

In the film, "The stakes are higher than ever for the time-traveling exploits of William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. and Theodore “Ted” Logan. Yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny, the now middle-aged best friends set out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it. Along the way, they will be helped by their daughters, a new batch of historical figures, and a few music legends – to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe."

William Sadler, who played the Grim Reaper in 1991 sequel Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, will be reprising the role in the new film. Samara Weaving (Mayhem, Guns Akimbo) will play Thea Preston, Bill’s daughter, with Brigette Lundy-Paine ("Atypical") as Billie Logan, Ted’s daughter.

Jillian Bell, Jayma Mays, Anthony Carrigan, Kristen Schaal, Erinn Hayes, Holland Taylor, Amy Stoch and Kid Cudi round out the cast.

Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) directed the film from a screenplay by original Bill & Ted writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon.

Bill & Ted Face the Music is slated to release in theaters on August 21st, 2020.
