A lot like last years fantastic sequel 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, which saw some unfortunate souls trapped in an underwater cave system with sharks, Black Water: Abyss appears to do much of the same, only with crocodiles.
Featuring some major The Descent vibes, the official trailer has been unleashed today for the Black Water sequel that looks like an absolute treat for fans of the aforementioned films and Alex Aja's stellar Crawl. In Black Water: Abyss, "A group of friends explore a remote cave system deep in the forests of Northern Australia when a tropical storm hits. As rising floodwaters trap them deep below the surface, something even deadlier emerges from the darkness – killer crocodiles."
Screen Media recently acquired the film and is set to release it in limited theaters and on VOD platforms August 7th, 2020.
Black Water: Abyss comes from director/producer team Andrew Traucki and Michael Robertson, the duo behind the first film and The Reef. Sarah Smith and Ian John Ridley wrote the script.
Jessica McNamee, Luke Mitchell, Amali Golden, Anthony J. Sharpe and Benjamin Hoetjes star.
