Never underestimate a nobody.
Need something to scratch that John Wick itch while waiting for the upcoming fourth entry in the franchise? Well, Hardcore Henry director Ilya Naishuller's new action-thriller Nobody looks to offer just that, with Bob Odenkirk ("Breaking Bad", "Better Call Saul") being cast as a family man who returns to his old ways as an ass-kicking vigilante.
Ahead of its theatrical release on February 26th, 2021, IGN has this week shared the official red band trailer for the film, which can be viewed below.
The site details, "Odenkirk stars as Hutch Mansell, an underestimated and overlooked dad and husband, taking life’s indignities on the chin and never pushing back. A nobody. When two thieves break into his suburban home one night, Hutch declines to defend himself or his family, hoping to prevent serious violence. His teenage son, Blake, is disappointed in him and his wife, Becca, seems to pull only further away."
"The aftermath of the incident strikes a match to Hutch’s long-simmering rage, triggering dormant instincts and propelling him on a brutal path that will surface dark secrets and lethal skills. In a barrage of fists, gunfire, and squealing tires, Hutch must save his family from a dangerous adversary-and ensure that he will never be underestimated as a nobody again."
Nobody also stars legendary actor Christopher Lloyd as Hutch's father, multi-hyphenate musician-actor RZA, Connie Nielsen, Gage Munroe and Paisley Cadorath.
The film is written by Derek Kolstad (John Wick franchise) and produced by Kelly McCormick and David Leitch (Hobbs & Shaw, Deadpool 2, Atomic Blonde) for 87North, Braden Aftergood (Hell or High Water, Wind River) for Eighty Two Films, and by Odenkirk and Marc Provissiero (Hulu's "PEN15") for Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment.
Kolstad, Marc S. Fischer, and Tobey Maguire serve as executive producers.
