Bruce Campbell Says the New 'Evil Dead' Will Ditch the Cabin and is Titled 'Evil Dead Rise'

New Evil Dead Titled Evil Dead Rise

Earlier this month, we learned that The Hole in the Ground director Lee Cronin was handpicked by Sam Raimi to direct the new Evil Dead film, and according to Bruce Campbell, the film was to be titled Evil Dead Now.

Well, in a conversation with Diabolique, Campbell now reveals the film has received the new (and more appealing) title Evil Dead Rise, and it'll present a much more different Evil Dead experience than what fans are accustomed to.

"The official name is Evil Dead Rise," Campbell tells the outlet. "We’re getting a new draft in. I don’t think anything will happen until 2021. Full bore ahead, we’re very excited about it. A whole, new ballgame. No more cabin in the woods."

Campbell recently revealed Cronin's film will not focus on Ash, but instead centers on a new group of heroines. Presumably, the film won't have any connection to Fede Alvarez's 2013 film. Instead, it'll tell a brand new story within the Evil Dead universe.

Head on over to Diabolique to read the entire conversation, which covers everything from Bruce's new book, The Cool Side of My Pillow, to the impact COVID-19 has had on his life, and much more!

Stay tuned for more updates on Evil Dead Rise.
