Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer Will Be In Jordan Peele's Next Film, Steven Yeun In Talks To Join

July 22, 2022 is the tentative release date for Jordan Peele’s next original horror film, following the roaring success of 2017’s Get Out and 2019’s Us (review). While we have no details about a plotline, there are a handful of top-level stars attached to the project, with another in talks to join what will no doubt be a blockbuster project.

First, who is already confirmed: Daniel Kaluuya, who previously portrayed Chris Washington in Get Out, is set to be in the upcoming film. Both that role in Get Out and his role as Chairman Fred Hampton in Judas and the Black Messiah earned Kaluuya Oscar nominations, while the former and latter earned him a Golden Globe nomination and award, respectively.

Also confirmed is Keke Palmer, who has a history in horror via the FOX series Scream Queens as Zayday, as Kym on MTV’s Scream: The TV Series, and as Alissa in Brett Simmons’ creature feature Animal. Palmer is best known for her work in Akeelah and the Bee, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, and the upcoming The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.

As for the latest rumor, first reported by Deadline, Steven Yeun, who is coming off of a starring role in A24’s Minari, is in talks with Jordan Peele to appear in this latest effort. Yeun previously appeared in Peele’s adaptation of The Twilight Zone in the episode “A Traveler,” and is perhaps best known for his star-making role as Glenn in The Walking Dead. He also starred as Derek Cho in the brilliantly bloody Mayhem.

Yeun’s role in Minari earned him a Best Actor nomination at the Oscars, making him the first Asian-American nominee in the category.
