Danny Elfman is back at it with his solo material, bringing us his first non-film score work in some three decades. The legendary composer has graced fans with two whimsically weird tracks in “Happy” and “Sorry,” with the promise of a new track on the 11th of every month for the foreseeable future. As it’s February in Pandemia, Elfman has just the cure for what ails us.
“Love in the Time of Covid” digs into the struggles of finding companionship in these uncertain, socially-distanced times. The isolation caused by our overdependence on social media, dating apps, and anything “smart” is another prevailing theme of this rocking number.
The music video, directed by Sven Gutjahr, sees Dæmon Clelland, also known as SHREK 666, in his long and winding quest for love, likes, and a good time. From his bedroom to the strip club and back, our monstrous protagonist is just trying not to feel so alone, if only to feel something…
