Reuniting Dario Argento with daughter Asia Argento, the upcoming Dark Glasses, also known as Occhiali Neri, will be the Italian maestro's first film since 2012’s Dracula 3D, and Indiewire has announced this morning that Film at Lincoln Center in New York City will be hosting the film's North American premiere!
Titled "Beware of Dario Argento: A 20-Film Retrospective," the special event rolls out on June 17th through 29th.
Indiewire details, "Argento’s vast catalog of classic films like Suspiria and Inferno, both part of the "Three Mothers" trilogy, debut new 4K restorations by Cinecittà. Seventeen films are newly restored. The famed director will be in person for select screenings, introducing films and conducting Q&As."
"We are delighted to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our ongoing partnership with FLC, by offering its audience the world premiere of 17 restorations of Dario Argento’s magnificent works, prepared by our laboratory at Cinecittà," said Chiara Sbarigia, president of Italian film archive Cinecittà. "Following the record-breaking 2018 Luchino Visconti and 2019 Ermanno Olmi retrospectives, we have decided to come back after these difficult months with Dario Argento, whose retrospective has already been booked by international venues for the next two years."
Other Argento films screening during the retrospective series include Tenebrae, Opera, Phenomena, Mother of Tears, Trauma, Deep Red, The Stendhal Syndrome, The Black Cat, Four Flies on Grey Velvet, and the aforementioned Dracula 3D.

Dark Glasses will also debut on Shudder this fall in North America, the UK & Ireland, and Australia & New Zealand.
