Disney Announces 'Alien' Television Series from "Fargo" Creator for FX on Hulu

While plenty of Star Wars-based announcements happened during Disney Investor Day tonight, Disney also had a pretty big reveal regarding another space-set franchise, as the company is currently at work on the first-ever television series set within the Alien universe!

According to Variety, the series will be helmed by "Fargo" and "Legion" creator Noah Hawley, who will be stepping into the creator/executive producer chair. The series will be presented as an FX on Hulu offering.

The site adds that FX is currently in "advanced negotiations" with Ridley Scott to join the project as an executive producer.

"FX is moving quickly to bring audiences the first television series based on one of the greatest science- fiction horror classics ever made: Alien," FX's John Landgraf said in a statement. "Set not too far into our future, it’s the first Alien story set on Earth.

He adds, "By blending both the timeless horror of the first Alien film with the non-stop action of the second, it’s going to be a scary thrill ride that will blow people back in their seats."

There are currently no details regarding casting, a premiere date, or when the new series is set within the Alien timeline. Aside from the recently revealed Marvel Comics series, this is the first big project from Disney in regards to the Alien universe.

Be sure to stay tuned for more updates!
