Documentary 'Stale Popcorn & Sticky Floors' Focuses on Grindhouse Horror from the '70s and '80s

Serving as a follow-up to last year's documentary Direct To Video, which took a look at the straight-to-video horror films of the '90s, Stale Popcorn & Sticky Floors, a new documentary featuring interviews with Lynn Lowry (The Crazies, Shivers), Brinke Stevens (Nightmare Sisters, The Slumber Party Massacre), Mel Novak (Game of Death) and more, will be hitting the small screen this Halloween!

From filmmaker Dustin Ferguson, who also directed the documentaries Penny Pinchers: Kings of No-Budget Horror (review) and The Party's Just Begun: The Legacy of Night of The Demons, Stale Popcorn & Sticky Floors is a brand new documentary that focuses on the grindhouse horror hits from the 1970s and '80s.

The film's interviewees also include John Dugan (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre), Camilla Carr (Don't Look in the Basement), Kevin Van Hentenryck (Basket Case), John A. Russo (Midnight), Carl Crew (Blood Diner), Marneen Fields (Hellhole), Jonathan Peacy (I Spit On Your Grave: Deja Vu), Craig Reed (Re-Animator), Frank Farel (Spookies), Craig Muckler (Microwave Massacre) and John Naulin who worked Special F/X on such classics as Halloween III: Season of The Witch, From Beyond and Re-Animator.

The film will be available on both VOD and DVD from SCS Entertainment this Halloween.
