Focus Features Delays 'Come Play' Theatrical Release to Halloween 2020

Come Play Delayed Halloween 2020

Described as a "terrifying new vision in horror," writer/director Jacob Chase‘s Come Play is based on his own short film Larry, and stars Gillian Jacobs and John Gallagher Jr. as parents who must save their child from a monster hiding within the boy's tech devices.

Focus Features has originally slated the Amblin-produced horror for a July 24th theatrical release, but since theaters will most likely remain closed throughout the summer due to COVID-19, that date has now been pushed to Halloween weekend, October 30th, 2020.

In the film, "Newcomer Azhy Robertson stars as Oliver, a lonely young boy who feels different from everyone else. Desperate for a friend, he seeks solace and refuge in his ever-present cell phone and tablet. When a mysterious creature uses Oliver’s devices against him to break into our world, Oliver’s parents must fight to save their son from the monster beyond the screen."

Come Play was also produced by Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona.

You can watch the original short film below.
