Searchlight Pictures was originally set to release Scott Cooper‘s horror movie Antlers, produced by Guillermo del Toro, in theaters back in April, but the film was delayed indefinitely due to the ongoing pandemic, and we've now been provided with the film's new release date.
Antlers will now be releasing in theaters on February 19th, 2021.
While the delay may be unfortunate, a new featurette was debuted during the film’s Comic-Con at Home panel with del Toro and Cooper. The short video explores the mythology behind the Wendigo and also features some bits of new footage.
In the film, a small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, discover that a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) is harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.
Graham Greene, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane and Amy Madigan also star.
Antlers is based on the short story "The Quiet Boy" by "Channel Zero" creator Nick Antosca, who co-wrote the film alongside Henry Chaisson, with revisions by Scott Cooper, who directed.
Del Toro produced alongside David Goyer and J. Miles Dale.
