'Halloween Kills' Delayed Until October 2021, New Teaser Released

Halloween Kills Delayed October 2021 New Teaser

Although it was rather expected, John Carpenter has taken to Twitter this afternoon to announce the unfortunate news that Halloween Kills will no longer be hitting theaters this Halloween season.

Delayed an entire year, the direct sequel to 2018's Halloween will now release in theaters on October 15th, 2021.

"If we release it in October of this year as planned, we have to face the reality that the film would be consumed in a compromised theatrical experience. After weighing our options, we have chosen to push the film’s theatrical release by one year," Carpenter and director David Gordon Green said in the statement.

They add, "On top of the traditional theatrical release, Universal has agreed to an IMAX presentation of the film in October 2021."

Carpenter and Green also let us know that preparation on Halloween Ends, the final film in the new trilogy, has also begun. It is now expected to release on October 14th, 2022.

Accompanying the bad news was a short teaser that picks up right after the conclusion of the first film. You can read the entire statement regarding Halloween Kills' delay and watch the clip below.
