Heather Langenkamp Announced for Mike Flanagan's Adaptation of 'The Midnight Club'

Netflix has officially announced actress Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street) will be joining Mike Flanagan’s horror series The Midnight Club.

The show is an adaptation of Christopher Pike’s 1994 young adult novel. The 10-episode series takes place at the fictional Rotterdam Home, a hospice where teenagers with terminal illnesses go to die. The story revolves around a group of five young men and women who meet at midnight to tell scary stories for their own entertainment. One night, they make a pact that the first of them to die will make every effort to contact the others from beyond the grave…a promise which may have terrible consequences.

Langenkamp will play the enigmatic doctor who runs the aforementioned hospice.

In addition to Langenkamp, The Midnight Club will also star Zach Gifford (The Purge: Anarchy), Samantha Sloyan (Hush), and Matt Biedel (The Umbrella Academy).

Flanagan said via Twitter: “I’ve been dreaming of this project since I was a teenager, and I cannot wait to embark on yet another adventure with my @Intrepid partner in crime (and television) Trevor Macy, as well as the fantastic crew we’ve been cultivating. More to come as we get closer to shooting.”

If this show is anywhere near as good as Flanagan’s previous projects, The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, and Gerald’s Game, it’s safe to say we’re in for a real treat.
