Hungarian Horror 'Post Mortem' Creates Memories of Dead Loved Ones on Blu-ray and DVD

Directed by Péter Bergendy, Scream Factory has announced they'll be bringing the Hungarian horror film Post Mortem to home video later this year.

Selected as the Hungarian entry for the "Best International Feature Film" at this year's Academy Awards, Post Mortem arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on September 20th, 2022.

Bonus features include deleted scenes and a trailer.

It is worth noting that, according to the product information on the page, the home video release will only feature English audio, not the original Hungarian, an issue that also hindered Scream Factory's presentation of On the 3rd Day earlier this year.

"In the aftermath of a near-death experience in the final days of the First World War, former soldier Tomás (Viktor Klem) has become a photographer with a particular - and peculiar - expertise. Presenting the bereaved an opportunity for one final, indelible memory of their dead loved ones, Tomás creates family photos in which the living and the dead are posed together."

"Haunted by a vision of an orphaned girl, Tomás is drawn to a disease-stricken village claimed to be overrun by ghosts. With the young orphan at his side, Tomás digs deeper into the mysteries of the village - and of what lies between life and death."

Post Mortem also staars Fruzsina Hais, Judit Schell, Andrea Ladányi and Zsolt Anger.

Piros Zánkay wrote the screenplay, based on a story by Bergendy and Gábor Hellebrandt.
