Ivan Kavanaugh's Familial Horror 'Son' Gets Chilling Trailer and Poster Ahead of March 5th Release

On March 5th, RLJE Films, a subsidiary of AMC Networks, will release Ivan Kavanaugh’s Son, a tale of psychological trauma, mother-son relationships, and the aftermath of a brush with death.

The synopsis for the film, which stars Andi Matachak (Halloween franchise), Emile Hirsch (Milk, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), and Luke David Blumm (The King of Staten Island), reads as follows:

After a mysterious group of individuals breaks into Laura’s home and attempts to steal her eight-year-old son, David, the two of them flee town in search of safety. But soon after the failed kidnapping, David becomes extremely ill, suffering from increasingly sporadic psychosis and convulsions. Following her maternal instincts to save him, Laura commits unspeakable acts to keep him alive but soon, she must decide how far she is willing to go to save her son.

David’s trembling and tossing is downright violent in the trailer, and I shudder to think of what “unspeakable acts” Laura will commit on behalf of her son. It’s also just nice to see the “possessed” child being a boy, as it seems like it’s usually the young girl who ends up a puppet of sorts.
