Jeff Nichols to Write and Direct Third Film in 'A Quiet Place' Franchise

While we unfortunately won't be reuniting with the Abbott family this year in John Krasinski's A Quiet Place Part II, which was delayed due to the pandemic, we've learned today that a third entry in the franchise is already in the works!

Deadline reports that Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter, Midnight Special) is set to write and direct the third film in the A Quiet Place universe, based on an original idea by Krasinski, who wrote and directed the first two films.

Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will once again executive produce for Platinum Dunes, with Krasinski and Allyson Seeger producing via their Sunday Night production company. Paramount is planning to release the film sometime in 2022.

A Quiet Place Part II, on the other hand, is still slated to hit theaters on April 23rd, 2021.

The A Quiet Place films are set in a post-apocalyptic world where a family is forced to live in silence while hiding from monsters with ultra-sensitive hearing. Part II will continue the first film's storyline, with Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe all returning to their respective roles. We currently don't have any details on the third film's plot or cast, but stay tuned for more updates.
