After agreeing to a "five-year exclusive production partnership" with Universal last year, filmmaker Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us) and his company Monkeypaw Productions will be releasing his third film in the summer of 2022.
Announced this week, the currently untitled new film will be released on July 22nd, 2022.
Details around the project are remaining under wraps for now, but Deadline reports the film will keep Peele within the horror genre. Back in April 2019, Peele himself told Fangoria that he's aiming to make the film scarier than both of his previous directorial efforts.
Between Get Out and Us, the Oscar-winning filmmaker's socially-driven horrors have garnered a combined $510.5 million worldwide for Universal, so it's pretty obvious why the studio is sticking to their guns when it comes to Peele.
In other Jordan Peele news, director Nia DaCosta’s Candyman, which Peele produced, is still currently set for theatrical release on August 27th, 2021. Peele is also producing a new take on Wes Craven's The People Under the Stairs.
