Kino Lorber Bringing 'Happy Birthday to Me' to Blu-ray with New Extras in October

Released on Blu-ray by Mill Creek Entertainment just a few years back in 2018, the Canadian slasher Happy Birthday to Me is already getting another new Blu-ray release this Halloween season.

Kino Lorber Studio Classics will bring the bizarre 1981 slasher to Blu-ray on October 18th, 2022.

While many physical media collectors will say a new Blu-ray is unnecessary (and I totally get understand), the release will come with some new special features that may entice previous buyers into double-dipping.

Blu-ray features include:

  • NEW Interview with Actress Tracey E. Bregman

  • NEW Audio Commentary by Co-Screenwriter Timothy Bond, Moderated by Historian/Filmmaker Daniel Kremer

  • Three US TV Spots

  • UK TV Spot

  • Two Radio Spots

  • Theatrical Trailer

  • 5.1 Surround & 2.0 Lossless Audio

  • Limited Edition O-Card Slipcase

  • Optional English Subtitles

"Welcome to upscale Crawford Academy, where everyone — especially new student Ginny (Melissa Sue Anderson, TV’s "Little House on the Prairie") — wants to be part of the school’s most popular clique. But now somebody has begun butchering the group’s members. Could a deadly accident from Ginny’s past be connected to the brutal killings? And as her 18th birthday approaches, will Ginny be the guest of honor at the most horrific party of all?"

Tracey E. Bregman (The Concrete Jungle), Matt Craven (Jacob’s Ladder), Lawrence Dane (This Park is Mine), Sharon Acker (Point Blank), Jack Blum (Meatballs), Lisa Langlois (Transmutations) and Hollywood great Glenn Ford (Human Desire) co-star in this twisted slasher shocker from legendary director J. Lee Thompson (The Guns of Navarone, Cape Fear, Return from the Ashes) that features — as its infamous poster promised — "six of the most bizarre murders you will ever see!"

Happy Birthday to Me is also available on UK Blu-ray from Indicator.
