Lamb Of God Share B-Side "Ghost Shaped People," Announce Deluxe Edition of Self-Titled Album

Lamb of God stormed the metal scene last year, their self-titled eighth album (review) reminding fans why they were a cornerstone of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal. Between the unexpected banger “Resurrection Man” and the ripping opener “Memento Mori,” the LP was a statement piece if ever the band had one. Now, the Richmond-based quintet are re-issuing the album in a special Deluxe Version, with loads of goodies to be included.

This deluxe version, due out on March 26th, adds two bonus tracks, bringing the album up to twelve groove metal bangers. One of these tracks, “Ghost Shaped People,” has been unleashed in all of its thrashing glory. Double kick-filled sections aren’t usually found in Lamb of God songs, but this one uses those persistent clicks to its advantage. The final section chugs away at that low D, in a skull-busting breakdown that wraps things up nicely.

“Hyperthermic/Accelerate” is the other bonus track, but that has not been released at the time of this printing. In addition to the two B-sides, the deluxe album will feature a bonus CD and DVD containing the band’s Live from Richmond, VA, a full concert which was live streamed back in September 2020. The encore for the concert, which sees the band playing the full self-titled record, front to back, features “Contractor,” “Ruin,” the Grammy-nominated “512,” and “The Death of Us,” which was recorded for Bill and Ted Face the Music (review).

The deluxe version of Lamb of God’s self-titled is due out on March 26th via Epic Records. Pre-order it here, and check out both “Ghost Shaped People” and the Deluxe Version trailer below:
