The Vestron Video Collector's Series camp has been rather silent for quite some time now, with the label's latest Blu-ray release being Maximum Overdrive back in 2018.
Regardless, they reassured us they'd return and they've made good on their promise by announcing both Richard Greenberg’s 1989 family favorite Little Monsters and David Cronenberg’s chilling 1975 body horror debut Shivers are joining the line on September 15th, 2020!
This will mark Little Monsters Blu-ray debut. Shivers was released on Blu-ray in the UK by Arrow Video a few years back.
Special features and other details have yet to be revealed, but Chris Alexander did provide a bit of a tease over on his Facebook page for the Shivers Blu-ray, writing that he has "worked on a whole bunch of incredible new features for this upcoming release." Alexander also promises "the ultimate Shivers experience."
Red Shirt Pictures founder Michael Felsher also dished out a few small details. "As to the contents of each disc, I am sure Lionsgate will release the features list soon, but I can tell you we did a lot of extras for each title," he wrote on Facebook. "These will be full special editions. Thanks to my gang of collaborators on these two titles, and look for more to come!"
Both releases are available to pre-order from DiabolikDVD at insanely reasonable prices. A bundle containing both Blu-rays is also available.
In Little Monsters, starring Fred Savage and Howie Mandel, a boy discovers an incredible and gruesome world of monsters under his bed.
In Shivers, the residents of a suburban high-rise apartment building are being infected by a strain of parasites that turn them into mindless, sex-crazed fiends out to infect others by the slightest sexual contact.
