After snatching up "Lucifer" following its cancellation at Fox back in 2018, Netflix debut the series' fourth season last year with the fifth set to premiere on August 21st. While the upcoming fifth season was expected to be the final one, Netflix has confirmed "Lucifer" will return for a sixth and "final" season.
"The devil made us do it. Lucifer will return for a sixth and final season. like, FINAL final," the official Twitter account wrote earlier today.
Part 1 of "Lucifer" Season 5 will include eight episodes, with eight more expected to premiere at a yet to be announced date. No further details have been revealed about the sixth season.
In the series, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) has decided he’s had enough of being the dutiful servant in Hell and decides to spend some time on Earth to better understand humanity. He settles in Los Angeles – the City of Angels.
"Lucifer" is based on the DC Comics character from the minds of Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg.
