Kino Lorber have this week announced that they will release George Miller's 1979 apocalyptic classic Mad Max on 4K Ultra HD for the first time ever this November. A standard Blu-ray version will also be available.
Both releases will be available on November 24th, 2020.
Technical specs and special features to be included on the releases have yet to be detailed, but we can expect to learn more as the street date approaches. Let's hope The Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome receive the same treatment!
"In a not-too-distant dystopian future, when man's most precious resource - oil - has been depleted and the world plunged into war, famine and financial chaos, the last vestiges of the law in Australia attempt to restrain a vicious biker gang. Max (Mel Gibson), an officer with the Main Force Patrol, launches a personal vendetta against the gang when his wife (Joanne Samuel) and son are hunted down and murdered, leaving him with nothing but the instincts for survival and retribution."
Hugh Keays-Byrne, Steve Bisley, and Tim Burns also star.
