Released last year by Unearthed Films here in the states, Danse Macabre has announced they'll be releasing Mark Savage’s award-winning psychological horror film Purgatory Road (review) in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand on November 2nd, 2020.
The film will be available on all streaming platforms including Sky Store, Virgin Media, Talk Talk, Sony, iTunes, Google Play and Microsoft. Meanwhile, a preview screening will be available to Irish viewers at the IFI Dublin Horrorthon between October 22nd and 26th.
Purgatory Road follows a psychotic priest and his brother on a crusade to absolve sinners with his own brand of murder. The only person brave enough to challenge them is a woman more crazed, more deadly, and more insane than they are.
Gary Cairns ("Criminal Minds"), Luke Albright (Monumental), Trista Robinson (The Human Race, Echoes of Fear), Jeremy Sande, Sylvia Grace Crim, and Jack Teague star.
Savage co-wrote the film with Tom Parnell.
In my review, I stated "the story and characters are enthralling and original, the atmosphere is rich and engrossing, and the special effects are superbly crafted. Passing this one up is an unforgivable sin!"
