MVD Bringing '90s Killer Kid Film 'Mikey' to Collector's Edition Blu-ray This August

Remember... Jason and Freddy were kids once too.

Arriving a full year before Joseph Ruben's box office hit The Good Son, Dennis Dimster's 1992 film Mikey told the story of a seemingly innocent and sweet little boy who causes murder and mayhem in his new neighborhood, and we've now learned the film is getting the Collector's Edition Blu-ray treatment later this year.

Joining the MVD Rewind Collection, Mikey on Blu-ray will include the film presented in HD, a brand new, feature length "making of" documentary and more!

Special Features include:

  • High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) presentation of the main feature in 1.78:1 aspect ratio

  • Audio: 2.0 Stereo (TBD)

  • English Subtitles\

  • NEW! Feature Length Making of Documentary: ''The Making of Mikey'' with star Brian Bonsall, Director Dennis Dimster-Denk, Editor and Producer Natan Zahavi and Director of Photography Thomas Jewett (HD, 1:27:11)

  • NEW! ''Mikey: Anatomy of a Scene'' with Director Dennis Dimster-Denk (HD, 13:36)

  • Theatrical Trailer (SD, 02:15)

  • Collectible Mini-Poster

The new special features were produced by filmmaker Richard Schenkman.

The film's all-star cast includes Brian Bonsall (Blank Check), Ashley Laurence (Hellraiser), Josie Bissett ("Melrose Place"), Mimi Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street), John Diehl (A Time To Kill), Whit Hertford (A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child) and Lyman Ward (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off).

"Mikey Kelvin (Bonsall) has been a bad boy, only nobody knows exactly how bad. Tragic and Deadly “accidents” seem to happen all around Mikey. So, from foster family to foster family and from school to school he goes, leaving a trail of unanswered questions. Of course, everyone knows Mikey is just a sweet, misunderstood little boy."
