Part man. Part machine. All cop.
NECA has gone all out for the 35th anniversary of the Paul Verhoeven-directed action sci-fi classic RoboCop with a trio of new figures, previewed today in a charming retro commercial.
RoboCop gets the Ultimate treatment, along with a battle-damaged version of the crime fighter from future Detroit and a massive ED-209.
NECA details the Ultimate RoboCop figure, "Battle criminals and rogue enforcement droids alike with an array of accessories: interchangeable data spike fist, Auto-9 pistol that fits into a hidden spring-loaded leg holster, Cobra Assault Cannon, attachable muzzle blast effect, and an additional interchangeable head with the likeness of Peter Weller."
"This 7" scale figure features upgraded deco and digital printing. Comes in collector-friendly window box packaging with opening flap."
As for the battle-damaged version, it includes a screen-accurate chair with movable elements. The chair is over 8" tall, over 7" wide, and has swiveling seat as well as articulated swiveling monitors! RoboCop comes with even more accessories, too: interchangeable data spike fist, Auto-9 pistol, attachable muzzle blast effect, and an additional interchangeable head, also with the likeness of Peter Weller.
The Ultimate Battle-Damaged RoboCop also comes in premium window box packaging with silver foil printing, featuring upgraded deco and digital printing.
And finally, the Enforcement Droid 209 Series (ED-209) stands nearly 10 inches tall and is totally in movie-accurate scale with NECA's 7-inch RoboCop figures. This is a massive figure and finally provides a worthy opponent for RoboCop.
"ED-209 is incredibly detailed and features an articulated head, legs that slide up and down, hinged arm wing panels, and poseable cannon arms. ED-209 also features movie-accurate sound effects and dialogue! Press a button and hear hydraulic machinery sounds, the metallic growl "Warning: throw down your weapon. You have 15 seconds to comply" and more! The ED-209 comes in packaging featuring original illustrations by Jason Edmiston."
NECA adds that the new RoboCop figures are "coming soon to a shelf near you."
