Netflix's "Resident Evil" Takes Us Behind the Gates of New Racoon City with First Trailer

Umbrella Corporation is going to change the world.

Resident Evil fans can take a peek behind the gates of New Raccoon City with the first trailer and new poster artwork for Netflix's upcoming live-action series based on the hit survival horror franchise.

Much like the first teaser, the trailer plays up the series with nonstop action and creature mayhem, and the new poster puts the video game franchise's iconic Licker front and center. Check it all out below!

"The all-new series expansion brings the best of the Resident Evil DNA forward – badass heroines, insane creatures (some new/some familiar), a battle for survival and of course, a deep mystery to unravel. Andrew Dabb ("Supernatural") expands the directions with fresh storytelling, bone-chilling horror and an action-packed spectacle perfect for summer binging."

The Netflix series is set in the year 2036 – "14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie."

Lance Reddick, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Paola Nuñez, Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti and Turlough Convery star.

The series will consist of eight one-hour-long episodes, which were written/executive produced by Mary Leah Sutton. The producing team also includes Robert Kulzer, Oliver Berben, and Martin Moszkowicz of Constantin Film.

Netflix's "Resident Evil" television series will have its global premiere on July 14th, 2022.
