New Comic Series 'Death To The Army Of Darkness' Will Feature Multiple Versions Of Ash

Death to the Army of Darkness Comic Series

After joining forces with legendary rockers Kiss to take on the Necronomicon's evil, Ash Williams will now find himself partnered up with multiple personifications of himself in Dynamite Entertainment's new comic series, Death to the Army of Darkness, which picks up the story six months after Sam Raimi's classic film's conclusion!

From writer Ryan Parrott (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Batman: Gates of Gotham) and artist Jacob Edgar (Savage Tales: Red Sonja), the series will feature multiple clones of the iconic Ash Williams, including female Ash, doggo Ash, and a sentient chainsaw! I don't think I've ever been this excited for a comic book!

Here's the full rundown of the plotline:

"It's been six months since the events of the Army of Darkness film…Ash is just trying to settle down and get back to his groovy ways. But dammit, Deadite-possessed strangers keep attacking him at every turn. Why is evil following everywhere he turns, and what happens when an awful splinter spell causes Ash to become…Team Ash?"!

"Ash is joined by the personification of his feminine side with Ashley Williams, Lil’ Ash, Dash aka Doggie Ash, the cynical and morose Skeleton Ash and Chainy – Ash’s now sentient chainsaw!"

"Together they must travel through time to Ancient Egypt and prevent the Necronomicon from ever being written in the first place. Along the way, can Ash solve his split personality predicament – and how would the others feel about that? Could one of the party members be hiding something? Fans will just have to read to find out!"

"Ash is just such a unique character to write, a self-serving braggart who always stumbles backward into being a hero," said Parrott. "And I’m really excited about the story we’re telling. This series is wacky fun and really digs into Deadite mythology. It’s full of blood, sweat, and boomsticks…so I really hope fans come along for the ride."

The first issue will feature variant covers by artists Ben Oliver (Vengeance of Vampirella, American Carnage), “Zombie King” Arthur Suydam (DCeased, Marvel Zombies), and Mirka Andolfo (Unnatural, Catwoman). A Valentine’s variant by Sebastian Piriz and a cover featuring J. Scott Campbell’s cover from Dynamite's first-ever Army of Darkness comic are also available! Preview the covers below.
