New Video for 'Texas Chain Saw Massacre' Game Faithfully Recreates Locations From the Film

Following Friday the 13th: The Game, developer Gun Interactive is hard at work on their upcoming game based on Tobe Hooper's classic 1974 horror film, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

In a new video debuted by IGN, Gun show off how faithfully they've painstakingly recreated various locations from the movie, down to the smallest details. Check it out below!

The developers tell IGN, "We've made a focused effort to ensure that what our players see is the closest representation possible to what Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkel brought to viewers on the big screen, and then we expand upon the world in a way that honors and builds on what already exists. We are giving our players the experience of what it would be like for them to step into the shoes of one of the Slaughter family or their victims and see how they would fare in horrifying situations that are every bit as compelling and entertaining a story as what happened to Sally and her friends in the original film."

Set before the events of the original film, the Texas Chain Saw Massacre game follows Ana Flores and her friends from college, who are searching for Ana's missing sister. What they find is beyond their wildest nightmares.

Gun details, "Take on the role of one of the notorious Slaughter family, or their victims, in a third-person asymmetrical horror experience based on the groundbreaking and iconic 1974 horror film."

"As a victim you must use your wits and stealth to stay out of the Family's reach to find the tools you need to lead to your eventual freedom. Slaughter Family players must seek out, track down, and stop their guests from escaping. Players of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre can finally find out if they have what it takes to survive."

The developers will once again be using the motion capture skills of Kane Hodder to portray Leatherface, and Ed Neal, known for his role as the Hitchhiker in the 1974 horror classic, will be voicing the character in the game. The voice cast also includes Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), Kristina Klebe (Don’t Kill It), and Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs).

A release date has yet to be announced, but you can visit txchainsawgame.com for more updates and details.
