Vinegar Syndrome Bringing 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2' to 4K Ultra HD

Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 4K UHD Vinegar Syndrome

With Vinegar Syndrome's annual Halfway to Black Friday Sale just around the corner, the company very nonchalantly announced a doozy of a release that's sure to have horror fans clambering to their website later this year.

Teased on their Facebook page and later confirmed by Vinegar Syndrome's Brad Henderson via Twitter, Tobe Hooper’s 1986 sequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 is coming to 4K Ultra HD sometime in 2022!

"We hope you’re looking forward to plenty of slashers, gialli, and regional weirdness, as well as UHD premiers of horror masterpieces such as THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE PART 2!," Vinegar Syndrome revealed on Facebook.

"It’s true! We are releasing TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 in UHD!" Henderson tweeted. "It will be available later this year. More updates to come," he added in a subsequent reply.

This news is not only a huge win for Vinegar Syndrome, but a massive relief for those (myself included) who never got the chance to snag the Scream Factory Blu-ray before it went out of print and began selling for ridiculous amounts online.

In The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2, "Radio DJ Vanita 'Stretch' Brock's (Caroline Williams) open request night is plagued by the annoying phone pranking of two road tripping, party-hard, hoodlums, but things take a disturbing turn when the hoodlums meet their demise at the hands of familiar chainsaw wielding maniacs. With the entire gruesome ordeal recorded on tape, Stretch seeks out the help of a former Texas Marshall (Dennis Hopper) who's on a personal quest of vengeance against this family of cannibals. While at first he turns her down, he eventually decides to use her tape to his advantage, asking her to air it during her request block- effectively baiting the cannibals to the radio station where he'll personally deal with them."

Vinegar Syndrome's 2022 Halfway to Black Friday Sale goes live at 12:01 AM on Friday, May 27th and runs through 11:59 PM on Monday, May 30th.
