Directed by Panos Cosmatos (Beyond the Black Rainbow), the Nicolas Cage-starring Mandy was one of my favorite films of 2018, and while it may not be as cool as Koch Media's stunning deluxe edition, I felt it was worth pointing out that RLJE Films have just released a Steelbook Blu-ray version of the film.
Since its release, the film has already been hailed as a new cult classic, and Cage’s performance is being called one of the best in his long and illustrious career.
"The quiet life of devoted couple Red (Cage) and Mandy (Andrea Riseborough) takes a dark and bizarre turn when a nightmarish cult and their maniacal leader (Linus Roache) seek to possess Mandy…body and soul. A shocking assault on the innocent pair leads to a spiraling, surreal, bloody rampage of all out, mind-altering vengeance."
Mandy was co-written by first-time screenwriter Aaron Stewart-Ahn, and features the final score of the late renowned Oscar-nominated composer Jóhann Jóhannsson (Sicario, The Theory of Everything).
Special features include a behind-the-scenes look at the film, as well as deleted and extended scenes.
