After his 2012 debut feature Antiviral, Brandon Cronenberg is back with a brand new sci-fi/horror film, titled Possessor. and NEON has today debuted a new red band teaser trailer that escalates mind-bending body horror to gory extremes.
His father, David Cronenberg, certainly must be proud.
Described as "an arresting sci-fi thriller," Possessor follows elite, corporate assassin Tasya Vos (Andrea Riseborough). Using brain-implant technology, Vos takes control of other people’s bodies to execute high profile targets.
“While Tasya has a special gift for the work, her experiences on these jobs have caused a dramatic change in her. In her own life, she struggles to suppress violent memories and urges. As her mental strain intensifies, she begins to lose control, and soon she finds herself trapped in the mind of a man (Christopher Abbott) whose identity threatens to obliterate her own."
Rossif Sutherland, Tuppence Middleton, Sean Bean and Jennifer Jason Leigh also star.
A release date for Possessor has yet to be revealed, but it's expected to arrive later this year.
