Be wary of the things you can’t see...

Award-winning filmmaker Anthony R. Risen has launched an Indiegogo campaign to help fund his upcoming gory body horror film Parasite in the Park, which sounds like an absolute dream project for fans of practical effects-laden horror classics!

"Parasite in the Park tells the story of a young boy that gets infected by an alien parasite and begins to wreak havoc on his neighborhood."

"Our film Parasite in the Park has a different type of feel for horror fans. We want to take the effectiveness of gory practical effects combined with real situations of films like The Thing and Texas Chainsaw Massacre and put them alongside playful characters like the ones in Gremlins, The Goonies, and The Monster Squad," says Risen. "It will be a mesh of everything that true horror fans will appreciate!"

Veteran artist Vincent J. Guastini will be creating the film's practical special effects. Guastini has lent his talents to films such as The Last of the Mohicans, Requiem for a Dream, The Taking of Deborah Logan, Child's Play 3, Super Mario Bros., Dogma, Spookies, Verotika, The Devil's Carnival, V/H/S Viral and many more!

The film will include an alumni full of experience, like actress Tuesday Knight (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master) and legendary Troma Entertainment co-creator Lloyd Kaufman (The Toxic Avenger).

Additionally, Parasite in the Park will feature an H.P. Lovecraft-inspired score from orchestral composer Graham Plowman (Mark of the Devil, An English Haunting). Plowman is also known for his Lovecraft style music on YouTube.

Head on over to the Indiegogo campaign to learn more, contribute and score some awesome perks while you're at it! You can follow Parasite in the Park on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for more updates. As always, keep supporting indie filmmakers!
