[Trailer] Ti West and Mia Goth Reunite for 'X' Origin Story 'Pearl'

A24 has unveiled the official trailer for their "X-traordinary origin story" Pearl, which is Ti West's highly anticipated follow-up to this year's porno-slasher hit X.

The film is slated for a theatrical release on September 16th, 2022.

The official synopsis reads, "Filmmaker Ti West returns with another chapter from the twisted world of X, in this astonishing follow-up to the year’s most acclaimed horror film. Trapped on her family’s isolated farm, Pearl must tend to her ailing father under the bitter and overbearing watch of her devout mother. Lusting for a glamorous life like she’s seen in the movies. Pearl’s ambitions, temptations, and repressions all collide, in the stunning, technicolor-inspired origin story of X’s iconic villain."

"I’m trying to build a world out of all this, like people do these days," West previously said in an interview with IndieWire. "You can’t make a slasher movie without a bunch of sequels."

Mia Goth will reprise the role of X's iconic villain Pearl, and stars alongside David Corenswet, Tandi Wright, Matthew Sunderland and Emma Jenkins-Purro.

West directed Pearl from a script he co-wrote with Goth.

Producer credits are shared by West, Jacob Jaffke, Kevin Turen, Harrison Kreiss, with Goth, Peter Phok, Sam Levinson, Ashley Levinson, Scott Mescudi, Dennis Cummings and Karina Manashil executive producing.
