Poppy Performs Unreleased Song "Say Cheese" On Night Two Of 'NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver'

Once upon a time, in the Ruthless Aggression era of wrestling, Limp Bizkit was touted as “WWE’s favorite band.” While there may not have been any accounting for taste then, that taste has certainly developed with the bevy of theme songs for NXT TakeOver specials, including the most recent one, TakeOver: Stand & Deliver’s “King Freak” by Rob bah gawd Zombie.

The case can certainly be made for Poppy to be NXT’s favorite musical act, as she’s played the most recent former NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai to the ring two Halloweens in a row now, as well as had her song “X” as the #NXTLoud theme for TakeOver: Phoenix. This year, for TakeOver: Stand and Deliver, the post-genre multimedia artist debuted a brand new song to kick off night two.

Even though the I Disagree (review) era of Poppy is allegedly coming to an end soon, the new song “Say Cheese” keeps things very metal, with Poppy even screaming in part of the performance, something we didn’t hear at all on the record. How she manages to cultivate a fresh sound every time is beyond me, but damn if I’m gonna complain about it. Whatever is coming next in this Ghostemane partnership, I’m here for it, if “Say Cheese” is any indication.

Both nights of NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver are available to stream on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network worldwide. Check out the clip of Poppy performing “Say Cheese” below:
