RLJE Films and Shudder Pick Up Steven Kostanski's 'Psycho Goreman' for Late 2020 Release

Psycho Goreman Acquired by Shudder and RLJE Films

Originally slated to premiere at SXSW as a part of the Midnight section, Canadian filmmaker Steven Kostanski's (The Void, Leprechaun Returns, Manborg) horror-comedy PG (Psycho Goreman) has been acquired by RLJE Films and Shudder, Deadline reports.

“Featuring a supporting turn from Kostanski’s Astron-6 collaborator Adam Brooks (and a few other surprise cameos), PG (Psycho Goreman) introduces emerging stars Nita-Josée Hanna and Owen Myre as Mimi and Luke, a perpetually bickering sister/brother duo who unwittingly resurrect an ancient alien overlord (Matt Ninaber) who’s been entombed in their backyard. They nickname the malevolent creature Psycho Goreman (or PG for short) who thanks to their possession of a magical amulet is forced to obey their childish whims.”

"PG: Psycho Goreman is a perfect movie for all of us who grew up in a video store," said RLJE Films chief acquisitions officer Mark Ward. "It has so much heart, thrills and fun that we believe this could be a franchise. We love this movie."

Kostanski produced the Psycho Goreman with Stuart F. Andrews, Shannon Hanmer, Jesse Kristensen and the Toronto Film Festival’s Midnight Madness programmer Peter Kuplowsky.

RLJE Films is planning a late 2020 theatrical release, while Shudder will premiere the film on its streaming service in early 2021.
