Rob Zombie Unleashes New Song "The Eternal Struggles of the Howling Man"

Well, alright, alright, alright!

Rob Zombie is back to make it weird and B-movie, as he closes in on the release of his seventh studio album The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy. Just before Halloween, we got our first taste of Zombie’s new work, with the heavy as King Kong himself “The Triumph of King Freak (A Crypt of Preservation and Superstition).” Now, with just a few weeks to go until the record drops, we have the follow-up, and it is a rager as only Rob Zombie can provide.

“The Eternal Struggles of the Howling Man” is a fast-paced, all hands on deck track, with John 5’s guitar work front and center. Five goes from punk-flavored riffs to bluesy licks at the drop of a hat, as Zombie talk-sings and howls as he discusses the finer points of lycanthropy. After a crowd-pleaser of a section chanting “power to the people,” we get a bit of a funk break, during which the video takes a turn into an animated bloodbath.

Balazs Grof handles the animated portions of the video, and his stylings in the instrumental section are comically gory and excessive, so it’s perfectly on-brand for Rob Zombie. All in all, the video is grindhouse, but make it acid trip, which is, once again, right on-brand for a Zombie production.

The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy is due out on March 12th via Nuclear Blast Records. Pre-order it here.
