First and foremost, this is a brilliant idea!
A few weeks back, Robert Englund told Entertainment Weekly that he's probably too long in the tooth to ever play Freddy Krueger again, also telling the site he doesn't think he'll ever don the makeup again, but that doesn't mean he's not open to lending his voice to potential A Nightmare on Elm Street animated projects.
In a chat with SYFY Wire earlier this week, Englund touched on the topic, revealing that he'd love to voice Freddy in an animated feature based on the iconic horror franchise.
"Now, if they did a really expensive animated version, a graphic novel animated version, I would love to go do the voice for it. Yeah, that would be fun to do," Englund stated.
Much like in the interview with EW, Englund also talked about the future of the live-action franchise, stating he'd love to see a prequel centering on Freddy's trial, acquittal and fiery death. The rumored Dream Warriors reboot was also a topic of discussion.
