Robert Englund Will Add His Element of Horror to the Cast of "Stranger Things" Season Four

Stranger Things announced yesterday on their Facebook page quite a few new additions to the cast for the upcoming fourth season.

The post on the show's official social media reads as follows:

"Let's give our new cast members a big Hawkins welcome. Roll call 🗣

  • Robert Englund aka Victor Creel: a disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital.

  • Eduardo Franco aka Argyle: a fun-loving stoner, pizza delivery boy, & Jonathan's new best friend.

  • Jamie Campbell Bower aka Peter Ballard: a caring man who works as an orderly at a psychiatric hospital.

  • Sherman Augustus aka Lt. Colonel Sullivan: a no-nonsense man who believes he knows how to stop the evil in Hawkins.

  • Mason Dye aka Jason Carver: a handsome, rich athlete dating the most popular girl in school.

  • Tom Wlaschiha aka Dmitri: a smart and charming Russian prison guard.

  • Nikola Djuricko aka Yuri: an unpredictable Russian smuggler who loves bad jokes, cold hard cash, and crunchy style peanut butter.

  • Joseph Quinn aka Eddie Munson: the head of the Hawkins High official D&D Club, The Hellfire Club."

A Nightmare on Elm Street is not Englund’s only flirtation with the horror genre. Before his iconic role as Freddy, he starred in multiple horror features including Eaten Alive, Dead and Buried, and Galaxy of Terror. Even after and between his Freddy role, he continued making more horror movies, including one of my all-time favorite versions of The Phantom of the Opera, Night Terrors, and Dee Snider’s Strangeland. I’m excited to see him in another role, and I hope we get to see him throughout the season, even if he isn’t a huge new character. It’s really great to have Robert in this casting, just like we did with Winona Ryder, an actual actor where their films made such a huge impact on 80’s pop culture. Freddy Kreuger quickly became a household name when A Nightmare on Elm Street was released in 1984. No doubt everyone in Hawkins has already heard of Freddy Krueger by now! Maybe even the Demogorgon, or the Mind Flayer… I have to say, the most intriguing character listed is Eddie Munson. He’s the owner of a Dungeons & Dragons shop, and he may know more about what’s been going on. The Hellfire Club sounds like a metal biker bar as well. We should see if he is the ultimate Dungeon Master, and will help the gang out! Season 4 is pushing to be released in 2021. Filming is currently in the works though, so things are looking hopeful for the fans who have been waiting since Fourth of July 2019 for a continuation!
